The name of Hardik Pandya has been buzzing all over social media platforms. Social media fills with rumors of Hardik Pandya leaving Mumbai Indians for teams like Kolkata Knight Riders in an all-cash deal or CSK and Rajasthan Royals if they offer captaincy. It has been a roller coaster for the IPL fans. Mumbai Indians firmly denied any trade talks, saying their post-season review is ongoing, and no approaches have been made. It makes little sense for MI to strengthen rivals like CSK or KKR unless they receive an equal or better deal in return for Hardik Pandya.
Offers at hand
Many Franchises are keen to have Hardik Pandya in their respective teams. There have been several offers made to Mumbai Indians for this trade. Honestly. I think whoever gets Hardik Pandya is bagging a huge deal because of what he brings to the Table. Following are the offers made so far.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) : Trade of Shivam Dube +Khaleel Ahmed + ₹10 crore.
Rajasthan Royals (RR): Trade of Yashaswi Jaiswal.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG): ₹25 crore + captaincy.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR): ₹30 crore + captaincy.
Delhi Capitals (DC): ₹25 crore as a player.
Captaincy Clause
It is known that Hardik Pandya won’t be accepting any offer without captaincy. That’s how he got back to Mumbai Indians squad from Gujarat Titans. It has been hard for Mumbai Indians fans to accept him as a captain with Rohit Sharma still playing for the team.
CSK and RR might not be interested in Captaincy clause because both of the teams have already settled permanent captain. Riyan Parag has proven to be a good captain so far. On the other hand, Ruturaj Gaikwad not so good. Unless CSK management decides to step him down as Captain, there is no chance for Hardik to don the yellow Jersey.
As a CSK fan myself. I would be very glad If Ruturaj steps down and handover the captaincy to Pandya. Because I think Ruturaj can give his best as batsman without captaincy pressure. We all know how drastic he has been in the last season both in the batting and captaincy department which is questioning his inclusion in the Indian Team.
Higher Possibility
X has been buzzing since yesterday that Hardik Pandya already accepted the offer from Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) with captaincy. There is a high chance of this trade happening.
Ravinchandran Ashwin also said that Hardik Pandya might prefer KKR over CSK because KKR could offer him a captaincy opportunity which is a key priority for him.
It is not official yet, but there is a high possibility of Hardik joining 3-time IPL Champion Team. Anything can happen so if you are hoping for Hardik Pandya joining your favourite team, the deal hasn’t been finalised. It’s not done until it actually is.
Whatever the team he gets into, let’s hope Hardik Pandya gets accepted and cherished by the home team fans. Because it is hard for any player to stay at the franchise if the fans are unhappy about him.
